Singer John Mayer hospitalized for emergency appendectomy

As previously reported, Dead & Company also postponed its concert on Tuesday in New Orleans because of Mayer's operation. "Had surgery yesterday and woke up to see some amazingly kind and loving tweets".

Mayer's Dead and Co. bandmate Bob Weir posted a photo on Twitter of the pair rehearsing on stage with the note, "Wishing a speedy recovery for John..."

The situation has made it necessary for the Dead and Company to postpone two more shows - set for December 7 in Orlando and December 8 in Sunrise, Florida. In the tweet, he mentions being "sorry that we couldn't finish out the last few dates of the tour". Loynes said all tickets for the concerts would be honored and later rescheduled.
