Kimrey, 32, the live-in boyfriend of missing 3-year-old Mariah's mother, Kristy Woods, was arrested December 1 in connection with her death and charged with concealing a death, obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, felony larceny and possession of stolen property, according to arrest records. "I wanted to bring her two gifts".
The remains were found almost a week after Mariah disappeared from her Jacksonville home. No one has yet been charged directly for the toddler's death, but the sheriff says new charges could follow the completion of the autopsy report. The girl's body was found last weekend miles from her home in Onslow County. One of the most unsettling things about this case though is that Earl was Mariah's mother, Kirsty's, live-in boyfriend.
Mariah's parents are divorced, and her father, Alex Woods, said that while his daughter had been living with her mother, his week had been "like hell, like a nightmare".
Nancy Grace discusses this bombshell with lawyer and child advocate Ashley Willcott, New York psychologist and creator of AnxietyTools.com Dr. Chloe Carmichael, California defense lawyer Troy Slaten, death scene investigator/forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan, and RadarOnline.com reporter Alexis Tereszcuk in this Crime Stories episode.
Kimrey is being held in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $1,010,000 bond. Authorities have arrested Kimrey in connection with the disappearance of a 3-year-old North Carolina girl.
A public visitation for Mariah will be held Wednesday from 4:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m.at Jones Funeral Home on Chaney Avenue in Jacksonville.
