Wenger fires back at Mourinho over playing Lacazette against Manchester United

Sol Campbell says Arsenal need to copy Manchester United and splash the cash

'The truth is Eric Bailly no chance for the weekend, Phil Jones a chance, [Marouane] Fellaini a chance, Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] a big chance, Matic is injured but will play for sure, I'm telling the truth but he will play for sure, [Michael] Carrick no chance, ' the Portuguese said.

The Arsenal boss insisted he is always honest and maintained that he thought the France global striker would not be fit to start. "We'll play quite an experienced team".

"I am here to fight as long as I can, as long as mathematically it's possible you have to fight, you cannot give any other message out".

The Frenchman, speaking at his news conference ahead of the Gunners Europa League clash against BATE Borisov, responded to United manager Jose Mourinho's very sly swipe at him.

"If I am a player, and I think with what we produced, we have a huge potential, and we lose the game, we can not accept that". Wenger said of Lacazette.

"Next week we go into a week with three games and so some players need competition, some experienced players".

Mourinho pointed out how his arch-rival declared Lacazette, his leading scorer, completely out for the contest.

The Gunners have managed to qualify without using a number of regular first-team players in European games.

In his post match interview last weekend, Mourinho took multiple swipes at Arsenal, calling the team out for alleged diving and Laurent Koscielny in particular.

"I don't want to forget my congratulations to both medical departments", Mourinho saif after the game.

That led to Mourinho questioning "the truth" over Lacazette, while the Portuguese coach also brought up David Silva's fitness - with Pep Guardiola naming him as a doubt for Sunday's Manchester derby.
