The studio stated that this mode was created to address numerous requests they received from fans regarding a new way to enjoy Dying Light's PvP elements.
The game has been built with Chrome Engine 6, which is a proprietary 3D game engine developed by Techland that was first used over 10 years ago in Speedway Grand Prix and Chrome (a science fiction first person shooter).
Developer Techland is bringing a new PvP mode to zombie apocalypse simulator Dying Light in the form of a standalone expansion called Bad Blood.
The Dying Light:Bad Blood Global Playtest is a closed online event that allows selected players to try out the expansion before its release.
Techland stating this news "as a response to numerous fan requests for a PvP approach to Dying Light, and the recent popularity of the Battle Royale genre among the survival horror fans", simple as that.
You can sign up to participate in its global playtest before its expected launch here.
More specifically, six players will be dropped into a zombie infested city, and tasked with scavenging their own supplies and weapons and collecting blood samples from the undead. Each of you has the same goal: to evacuate before the night falls. But remember, the clock is ticking. Not only will players have to fight against each other but also A.I controlled zombies and in some instances powerful boss monsters that could turn the tide of battle.
Evacuation The more samples the players harvest collectively, the more seats are unlocked. But everyone pays for their seat individually, which means the alliances are short-lived and can easily end with a stab in the back.
The only way out is the extraction chopper, but nobody rides for free, apparently.
