Six years after breaking into the music industry, Ed collected the prestigious honour fromPrince Charles at Buckingham Palace in London on Thursday.

The British singer, whose latest album Divide spent more than 15 weeks at the top of the charts, was the most-streamed artist of 2017 and supported various good causes.

Ed Sheeran has had an unbelievable 2017, selling millions of copies of his album Divide and headlining Glastonbury.

Ed said that he hadn't been asked by Harry to perform at his wedding in May 2018, but when asked if he would do it, he replied: 'Yeah, why not'.

The Prince of Wales presented the medal to Sheeran and was reportedly impressed by the singer's work ethic.
