Sango, a serial governorship aspirant, is the current Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau State.

He was abducted alongside his son, driver, a prominent chieftain of the PDP in the state and another victim whose identity is yet to be established.

This has been confirmed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr John Akans, who told Channels TV that the chairman left Jos on Wednesday afternoon for the national convention when he encountered his abductors.

"It was the Police who called his family and intimated them of the incident because his son's phone was seen inside the vehicle".

Mapis, however, said that no one had contacted the family so far.

Sango was abducted alongside a one-time factional state Chairman of the PDP in Pateau State, Emmanuel Mangni.
