Five men, including a national- level powerlifter, died and one other person was injured after their vehicle met with an accident in the early hours on Sunday near the Delhi-Haryana border, police said.
Yadav, along with five other powerlifters, were travelling from Panipat towards Delhi in their Swift Dzire auto, when the vehicle hit a road divider.

According to the Times of India, the vehicle lost control while overtaking another auto, following which, it rammed into a pole and overturned. The impact of the accident was so brutal that the roof of the auto was completely blown off. The group had been celebrating one of their members' birthday when the incident took place. The driver could not see the electricity pole. The possibility of drunken driving has also not been ruled out.
The injured in hospital are unconscious. All four weight-lifters were killed in the accident on Delhi-Panipat National Highway-1.
