Mitt Romney Had A Cancer Scare Last Summer!

Reports: Mitt Romney treated for prostate cancer

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney speaks after a dinner meeting with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump at Jean-Georges inside of the Trump International Hotel & Tower in NY, U.S., November 29, 2016.

"Last year, Governor Mitt Romney was diagnosed with slow-growing prostate cancer", an aide to Romney told NBC News.

A Romney aide added that the cancer was removed surgically and did not spread beyond the prostate.

Romney is said to be seriously considering running for the Senate seat being vacated by Utah Republican Orrin Hatch, who announced last week he would retire at the end of his term this year.

Now with a clean bill of health, the former governor of MA is being encouraged to run for Utah Senator this year. The treatment was successful and Romney's prognosis is good, the person said.

The former MA governor shared a phone call with President Donald Trump in recent days who's had a contentious relationship with in the past.

The disclosure comes as Romney, the former governor of MA, is believed to be preparing to launch a campaign for Senate in Utah.

Romney - who owns homes in both states - changed the location on his Twitter account from MA to Utah the day Hatch announced his retirement.

The fact that news of his prostate cancer treatment emerged now could be an indication that Romney will run for office.
