Along with a half-lit, but full arena, the numbers according to Facebook were over 100,000 watching live, but the final tally was a whopping 1.6 million viewers tuning in to watch the LaMelo and LiAngeloBall display their skills against worldwide competition.
LiAngeloBall and LaMelo Ball made their professional basketball debuts on Tuesday in the first game of the Big Baller Brand Challenge Games. Vytautas normally plays in both the Lithuanian and Baltic leagues, with the Baltic featuring lower-level competition that also involves teams from Estonia and Latvia. Vytautus and Zalgiris ran up and down the floor without much concern for defense, and fans saw enough highlight plays to keep it interesting. Their parents, LaVar and Tina Ball, sat courtside.
"This is a great thing for everybody", Ball said.
The Big Baller Brand Challenge Games will be a series of five games that will serve as a showcase for the two younger Ball brothers as they continue their odd path to try and eventually join Lonzo with the Los Angeles Lakers. "They'll get more comfortable with my boys and my boys will get more comfortable with them".
Walcott could be set for Southampton return
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has insisted he hopes the England global stays put, but Walcott could be on the move this month. He has gone on to make over 400 appearances for the Gunners, racking up more than 100 goals in the process.
Truth be told, those are Big Baller numbers and it was a massive success for the parties involved. "People back home get to watch it".
Ball is Life will broadcast the game at 1:30 p.m. ET as part of its weekly high school showcase because, after all, LaMelo is still supposed to be in high school. The remaining four games will be played throughout January in between Prienu Vytautas' regular LKL schedule. Would they be ready to compete against professional players in a different country?
Once the Ball family has finished with the Big Baller Brand Challenge Games, we'll likely have a better idea of what their next move will be.
LiAngelo started and struggled with his shot in the first half, making just 2 of 9 shots before the break.
