Niantic revealed through an OTA update sent to affected devices that support for their systems will end on February 28.

Niantic is ending Pokémon Go support for Apple devices incapable of upgrading to iOS 11.

Affected devices include the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPad (4th generation), iPad (3rd generation), iPad mini, and iPad 2.

Michael Douglas Preemptively Denies Sexual Harassment Allegations
I pride myself on my reputation in this business, not to mention the long history of my father and everything else. He added, "I'd confess to anything I thought I was responsible for". "There is no evidence".

Niantic explains that this change is due to the fact that improvements to Pokemon Go are pushing the app beyond the capabilities of older versions of the mobile operating system. This revelation also means that users of iPhones older than iPhone 5/5C will no longer be able to play the game on their devices. No doubt, players who have invested real money into the game via microtransactions will be fairly vexed that they're being ditched for not having the latest iPhone or iPad. So, after February 28, if you own an Apple device still not running iOS 11, you will no longer be able to access Pokemon GO account or make use of your PokeCoins and other items in the Bags.

Niantic hasn't revealed whether a similar change will come to Android devices, though if this move is as a result of the company making use of newer technology, then this will likely be the case. As the developer continues to update the game it can't continue to support older operating systems that just can't handle the new features.
