In an interview with American fashion magazine, Vogue, the 23-time Grand Slam champion revealed she had to endure a series of operations just days after her daughter was delivered via an emergency c-section. But Serena insisted, and soon enough a doctor was performing an ultrasound of her legs. Or I'll get angry about the crying, then sad about being angry, and then guilty, like, Why do I feel so sad when I have a attractive baby?
Serena Williams has spoken about the medical ordeal she faced after giving birth to her daughter. "I guess that's just who I am", she said. Serena had to get an emergency c-section after which she developed several blood clots in her lungs, requiring extra surgery.
SerenaWilliam's daughter Olympia Ohanian already made history when she helped her mom (from within the womb) win the Australian Open nearly a year ago.
Williams said her pregnancy was relatively easy, but the complications began when her daughter was born via C-section after Williams' heart rate dropped.
When she returned to surgery, the doctors found that she had had a large hematoma [an abnormal collection of blood outside of a blood vessel] had flooded her abdomen.
Google sued for discriminating against white men
In September, three female former Google employees filed a lawsuit against the company, saying it discriminates against women. Google terminated Gudeman in 2016 after he made comments suggesting a Muslim colleague had a link to terrorism.
We are so happy to hear that Williams and baby Alexis is okay and can't wait for her return to tennis.
"When I'm too anxious I lose matches, and I feel like a lot of that anxiety disappeared when Olympia was born", she said. "I think sometimes women limit themselves".
While the 36-year-old has never been shy about displaying her playful side, she kept it equally real in her Vogue feature as she opened up about her post-partum health complications and the challenges of motherhood. "The emotions are insane", she said. They pack everything! It's a bit extravagant for me. She had targeted the Australian Open, which she won past year while only a few weeks pregnant, but that did not pan out after an exhibition match loss to Jelena Ostapenko last week. The Olympic athlete discussed being a new mom, her recent marriage to baby Alexis' dad and namesake, Alexis Ohanian, and her yet-to-come tennis comeback.
She will be defending her Australian Open title in March at Indian Wells, and will also debut a new clothing line in March on her website.
Serena is still adjusting to being a mother on the tour, which she noted might be the most rebellious thing she has ever done, and gives credit to the men who have managed to find a balance.
