Sorry California, You Still Can't Bring Marijuana to Coachella

An important distinction: the festival must abide by California's general marijuana laws and allow concertgoers to have a small amount of weed on them for "personal use", however they wouldn't be allowed to smoke it out in the open.
The major music festival made a decision to ban marijuana use on their grounds during this year's incarnation despite the fact that California has legalized recreational use for adults, reports Billboard.
The city of Indio, where Coachella takes place, is cracking down on marijuana use. A new report claims the California two-weekend event will not lift its marijuana policy despite statewide recreational approval.
State law aside, however, Coachella's organizers are free to limit what's allowed within the festival's grounds, said Indio police Sgt. Dan Marshall. Despite that, one thing it won't be bringing along anytime soon is Marijuana.

Regardless, we hope this clears up some of the confusion, because we do not want to hear about any festival-goers being kicked out and not getting to see any of their favorite bands.
