Karni Sena protests against CBFC in Mumbai, over 150 held

The makers, however, are not sticking to the suggested "Padmavat" and have added another "a", making it "Padmaavat", if we go by the film's official Twitter handle. The movie has been facing protests from various groups, particularly Shri Rajput Karni Sena, for allegedly tampering with historical facts. The Karni Sena has also demanded the resignation of Prasoon Joshi, the chairman of CBFC. "Padmavat" has been given a censor certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Among the suggested modifications was that of a title change as well.
Mumbai: Additional security personnel were deployed outside the office of Central Board of Film Certification on Friday after Karni Sena threatened to stage a protest against clearance given to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial venture Padmaavat (earlier, Padmavati).
CBFC, in consultation with a special advisory panel, saw the movie last month and made a decision to grant the film a U/A certificate with five modifications, including title change and two disclaimers. Padmavat might get a better opening at the box office or might beat Padman in its theatrical run but due to its controlled budget and pre-sold rights like overseas, music and satellite and others, Padman will definitely emerge as a clear victor and will easily become one of the most profitable films of the year. It has also suggested relevant modifications in the song Ghoomar to befit the character portrayed.
Stan Lee Accused Of Sexual Harassment
Lee has received demands to pay money and threats that if he does not do so, the accuser will go to the media. Lee is the co-creator of some of Marvel's most popular characters, including Thor, Spider-Man and the X-Men.
The modification includes changing the disclaimer that the movie does not claim historical accuracy and added that the movie does not subscribe to the Sati system practice.
On the same day, Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhra Raje had announced that the controversial movie will not be released in the state on January 25.
The controversies around the film Padmaavat seems to have no stopping. The CBFC's process is complete and any further news about cuts etc is absolutely untrue."Padmaavat stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini of Chittor, who committed Jauhar(self-immolation) after Alauddin Khilji invaded her fort. Shahid plays Rawal Ratan Singh, Deepika's husband".
