OnePlus 5T Lava Red Special Edition smartphone launched in India

OnePlus recently launched a Sandstone White colour variant of the OnePlus 5T because apparently fans had been asking for a sandstone OnePlus phone - like the company's yesteryear classic OnePlus One - for a long time now.

One Plus launched their Lava Red OnePlus 5T smartphone back in December and now the handset is coming to India. The company had earlier teased the OnePlus 5T Lava Red Edition for India and has now announced that the registration will begin from 11th of January 2018 on amazon.in and will be open until 20th January 2018.

OnePlus made a decision to "revisit a classic" last week, unveiling a special Sandstone White edition of the already attractive and popular 5T smartphone that tapped into the nostalgia of the company's early supporters. Apart from a new colour scheme, the new edition retains the same features and specifications as the original Midnight Black variant launched in November 2017.

As is customary with most Limited Edition OnePlus phones, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red will also be available in 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option with rest of the hardware specs remaining intact. The display is protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Currently, the Lava Red is available only as the higher-end OnePlus 5T model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board storage.

In the camera department, it has a dual camera setup on the rear that houses a 16-megapixel sensor and a 20-megapixel sensor. It runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with Oxygen OS and Oreo update is also on the way. The feature detects eyes and nose contours of the user and delivers 99 per cent success rate even with scarves or while making amusing faces. The OnePlus 5T Lava Red comes with the same battery capacity of 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge support, along with the Dash Charger in the package. The OnePlus 5T will come with a dual-nano SIM slot too.
