Lakers proprietor tweets help for Luke Walton

Brandon Ingram scored 26 points, and Lonzo Ball contributed 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as the Los Angeles Lakers knocked off the San Antonio Spurs 93-81 on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Lakers majority owner Jeanie Buss and team president Magic Johnson each tweeted support for coach Walton on Saturday after the Lakers won their fourth straight game.

Last week, LaVar Ball spit his hardest criticisms of Lakers head coach Luke Walton yet in an interview with ESPN, saying "You can see they're not playing for Luke no more", according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Rich Eisen had ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst on his radio show on Friday and the current hubub over LaVar Ball's comments about Walton came up. "I don't know that part of it, but he's day-to-day right now", Walton said.

Since Randle arrived in 2014, the Lakers have drafted in the lottery for three straight years as the team struggles to gain solid footing and sits in a three-way tie for last place in the Western Conference 40 games into the 2017-18 National Basketball Association season. Against the Spurs, the Lakers only shot 41.4 percent overall with their free throws again lacking, but Lonzo was a bright spot in the win.

It's not time for Luke Walton to put his house on the market quite yet. Meanwhile, the Lakers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

This week, the Los Angeles Lakers have been turning a corner. Dorsey recalled Tucker teaching him to "play with tenacity" back in his high school days.

Walton used to play for the Lakers from 2003 to 2012 before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers the following year. It's telling that the likes of Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich, among others, can't stop singing Walton's praises.

The most recent chapter in their ongoing war of words comes courtesy of Kuzma, who snapped video footage of Lonzo wearing a du-rag on the team's road trip to Dallas.

"Yeah, I'm going to enjoy it for sure", Randle said.

There were six ties and 12 lead changes in the game, and the Lakers turned it into a close game when they orchestrated a 15-3 run in the fourth quarter, erasing the 80-70 lead that Dallas had taken early in the fourth quarter on a 3-pointer by Dirk Nowitzki. They play seven of their next team games away from the Staples Center, the first game being on Monday night at Memphis against the Grizzlies.
