Taking to the stage in Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said countdown of Congress to make an exit in the state has begun. When Congress was at the Center, only Rs. 73,000cr was given to Karnataka. It has caused destruction here and Karnataka doesn't need a Congress culture.

Modi said his government is working by following the policy of "reform, perform and transform". The money, however, has not been passed on by the state's Congress government, he said.

The Prime Minister also said people of the state have not received the benefits of Centre's funds. The party is going all-out to wrest power from the Congress in the assembly election that will be held later this year.

The election schedule for Karnataka is expected to be released within the next couple of months, with the tenure of the incumbent assembly scheduled to end in May, 2018.

"My dream is that a person Hawai chappal should be able to travel by air", he says. "If Yeddyurappa, son of a farmer, becomes chief minister of Karnataka, the projects for farmers will work at its best because Yeddurappa has farmer's best interest at heart". "This is unsafe for democracy and shameful for the state government", he charged.

During his speech, the PM said that while the world is talking about "ease of doing business", the state is gaining notoriety for "ease of murdering" rivals.

PM Modi said this while addressing a mega rally at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru, which was attended by over one lakh people.

Modi also highlighted the allocation of Rs 17,000 crore in the Union Budget towards developing 160-km of Bengaluru's suburban railway network. CM Siddaramaiah welcomed Modi to the "the No.1 state in investments and progressive policies", urging him to "find time for Karnataka's water needs".
