Cardinals expected to release RB Peterson

If available should Redskins consider RB Adrian Peterson

He spent 2017 playing brief stints with the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals.

Adrian Peterson is expected to be released from the Cardinals on Monday, ESPN.com reported, citing sources. Peterson suffered a neck injury during the 12th week, ending his season.

Schefter reports that there is a chance he could return to the Cardinals.

Peterson had a monster debut with Arizona, rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns, but he failed to eclipse even 30 rushing yards in three of his other appearances with the team. He also rushed for 97 of his 99 career touchdowns with the Vikings.
