After the all party-meeting at the CM's residence, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the government would submit a survey report on 351 roads in the Supreme Court on Monday to ensure that there is no sealing on these roads in the coming days.
The Delhi government has made a decision to lead a delegation of political parties to the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee to discuss issues related to the Delhi master plan (MPD) 2021 and find a solution to the sealing problem. Following their agitation, an interim relief came from the top court which stayed the sealings to review the Delhi Master Plan 2021.
"Both the parties should find an immediate solution to the problem, instead of gaining political mileage out of it", Gandhi tweeted in Hindi. Even though BJP was also invited to this all-party meeting, it boycotted it.
In January, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta had alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers "misbehaved" with members of a BJP delegation at Kejriwals residence when they had gone there to discuss about relief to traders hit by the sealing drive. Over seven lakh traders would be participating in the protest, said the statement issued by CAIT.
"The discussion for traders was necessary and if needed, we will again call a meeting and appeal to the BJP to attend it", Sisodia said.
"BJP wants to make way for FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) through the sealing drive", Sisodia said and added that the drive is being done with the support of BJP. The meeting lasted nearly for an hour and was fruitful, Maken said.
"The government should appoint prominent lawyers as the chief minister has appointed for his personal litigation", BJP said in a letter to Kejriwal.
Maken said the Delhi government has not met the Monitoring Committee since the sealing drive began and added that Kejriwal has also agreed for a meeting with the parliamentary panel.
On March 11, the Chief Minister had written to Delhi Congress and BJP chiefs respectively, inviting them to attend the all-party meeting.
The court held the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the state government and Centre responsible for the non-implementation of the sealing drive despite being ordered back in 2006. AICC sources said Mr. Gandhi was briefed about the matter by Mr. Maken after the all-party meeting at Kejriwal's residence.
