The Big Little Lies Emmy victor has signed on to star in the HBO limited series The Undoing, which will reunite her with writer David E. Kelley, TVLine has learned.
Kidman will star as Grace Sachs, an Upper East Side therapist who is weeks away from publishing her first book, called "You Should Have Known". A "violent death, a missing husband" and "a chain of awful revelations" shatter her existence, leaving her to build a new life for herself and her son. Bruna, meanwhile, will also executive produce through her company Made Up Stories.
She said: "David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its centre". A search for a director is under way. The number of episodes is TBD, it will likely be be in the same range as BLL, whose first season consisted of 7 episodes. Blossom's titles now in development include an adaptation of the literary sleeper hit The Silent Wife, an adaptation of best-seller Reconstructing Amelia, an adaptation of Janice Lee's best-seller The Expatriates, and an adaptation of off-Broadway vampire hit Cuddles.

Kelley and Kidman will both serve as executive producers, with Kelley writing the whole season, though an episode total has yet to be determined.
The Undoing comes shortly after Hulu edged HBO - among other high-profile outlets - for rights to Reese Witherspoon starrer Little Fires Everywhere. "A character-driven psychological thriller, I'm excited about the adaptation and thrilled to be able to do it with Nicole and HBO", Kelley said in a statement. Kidman also appeared in HBO's Hemingway and Gellhorn alongside Clive Owen in 2012, garnering her Emmy®, SAG and Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal as Martha Gellhorn. It won 8 Primetime Emmy Awards out of 16 nominations, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Kidman.
