Sabre rattling started between India and Pakistan diplomats

The bilateral relations between India and Pakistan hit rock bottom with the two sides accusing each other of harassing one another's diplomats and their families. Indian diplomats and their family have faced regular harassment in Pakistan recently with unauthorised entry into their premises, random interception of their cars and even robbery. According to the report, the children of Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner were stopped and harassed on their way to school over the past three days, while a senior diplomat was harassed while moving in Delhi.
"On the way both cars continuously obstructed, harassed and stopped the driver and this continued for nearly 20 minutes". The reports further claim that Indian security personnel roughed up the driver of the auto with the diplomat's child still inside the vehicle. "In view of such an atmosphere of intimidation, most families have returned to India and children have been withdrawn from schools", the source said. Last month a group of 7 - 8 men raided the residential complex last month and disconnected the electricity and water supply to the property, which is owned by India. Even after the protest from Indian diplomat, power supply was not restored for over two weeks. Moreover, they said, there has been an undue delay by the Pakistan government in providing clearances for the complex. The High Commissioner's auto was recently stopped by Pakistani agencies in the middle of a busy road to prevent him from attending an event, " they noted. These will no doubt be investigated. "It is becoming hard for the Pakistani diplomats posted in India to keep their families with them due to increase in harassment incidents", said the newspaper quoting a source.

The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi wrote four diplomatic notes to the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, mentioning 18 alleged incidents of harassment of diplomats, their family members and Indian workers in the diplomatic mission, The Indian Express reported. "However, Indian diplomats chose to tackle this matter with quiet and persistent diplomacy rather than by airing issues in the media", the MEA source said here. "In one of the cases, one official's home was broken into and a laptop was stolen", they added.
Indian government sources also said Pakistani security agencies are resorting to "aggressive surveillance, violation of physical space and tailing of officers in close and risky proximity".
