The leader of Iowa's Senate is stepping down Monday after a video of him appearing to kiss a statehouse lobbyist surfaced, according to the Associated Press.

But by early afternoon, Dix made the decision to end his Senate stay in the final year of his second term.
"I not only sponsored and voted for this amendment, but I was a leader who helped shepard (sic) this amendment through the Iowa House", Dix boasted in 2006, when he ran unsuccessfully for Iowa's 1st Congressional District seat.
Dix is a third-generation farmer who was born and raised in Iowa.
"It's a disgrace to the majority party caucus".
The website said the incident was recorded March 1. "We don't need this ongoing story about where Senate Republican leadership is on these issues dealing with women".
Senate Democrats in a statement Monday called the incident a "serious matter" and mentioned Dix's "failure to take any responsibility" after a former Senate staffer, Kirsten Anderson, filed a lawsuit claiming sexual harassment and discrimination.

Still, given the Raiders' subpar cornerbacks group, Smith was probably the best one among them the second half of the season. The Raiders rumors surrounding the future of cornerback Sean Smith and the Oakland Raiders has been cloudy this offseason.

Past year she was awarded a $2.1 million settlement for wrongful dismissal.
Dix has maintained the ex-staffer was sacked for poor performance.
Anderson was sacked in 2013 hours after complaining bout a toxic work environment in the Statehouse.
The Iowa Legislature has since hired a human resources director to oversee harassment complaints at the state Capitol.
Iowa Starting Line said the video was shared by a member of the general public who is not affiliated with a campaign or party organization but "happened to see the scene while at the neighborhood bar", Waveland Tap on University Avenue.
