This could be huge news, as it would bring a number of long-lost classics to the Nintendo platform, with possibilities ranging from Fighters Megamix and Sega Rally Championship on the Saturn to Crazy Taxi 2 and Samba de Amigo from the Dreamcast line-up. Now, SEGA Ages is being rebooted on the Nintendo Switch, delivering the most faithful ports of Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, and arcade games for the current generation.
"Sega Ages, the original series that brought classic games to modern consoles, is being rebooted for Nintendo Switch". The new Switch Sega Ages games will be the work of retro masters M2 (who also handled the original Sega Saturn releases).
WPI inflation eases to 2.47 per cent

Still, we're interested in seeing which classic Sega games come to Switch via the Sega Ages brand. Additionally, PC, Xbox One and PS4 players will get the chance to play Shenmeu I & II, which were originally released on the Sega Dreamcast console. At the time it first made this announcement, the Sega Ages initiative was only confirmed for Japan, but today, Sega revealed that titles in the series will be coming to North America and Europe as well.
Still, we're a bit surprised that there doesn't seem to be any plans in place to just release a compilation of classic Sega games for the Switch instead of these individual titles.
It was also announced that Gain Ground will be joined by other arcade games, while Rieko Kodama was also confirmed as the producer on the new Sega Ages project.
