Shenmue I and II will release on modern consoles and PC

The biggest dream of every DreamCast fan has come true.
Best of all, both games will be featured in a single package collection that will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime later this year.
Slash Gear, for one, is calling the newly announced releases an HD remake of the original. It has also been revealed that lots of graphical improvements will be making their way into these Shenmue games, but bear in mind that they will not be full on HD remakes or remasters. This could be based on Sega's earlier comment back in 2016 that two of the biggest issues coming in the way of "Shenmue" 1 and 2 being brought back are the quality of the originals and the work needed to secure the licenses for all the products and logos that appeared in them.
Shenmue 1 and 2 for PC, Xbox One and PS4 will have updated graphics options, modernised controls and the option for Japanese or English voice acting.
In news that will probably have retro gamers frothing at the mouth in excitement, Sega has announced that Shenmue and Shenmue II will be arriving on current gen platforms later this year.
Shenmue I & II are available for pre-order from the first-party retailer with pre-orders opening on Steam and other USA and EMEA retailers soon.
Those unfamiliar with the Shenmue series, the first game follows the exploits of teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki after he returns to his family dojo only to witness a confrontation between his father and a mysterious Chinese man named Lan Di who ends up killing Ryo's father.
