In testimony on Thursday, the former girlfriend of San Francisco 49er Reuben Foster recanted her accusations of domestic violence against the linebacker.

The most explosive statements came from Ennis, 28, who broke down several times during her two-hour testimony and who, while being examined by Foster's attorney, Joshua Bentley, admitted that she tried to bring false domestic violence charges against another former boyfriend in 2011 when that man tried to break up with her.

Foster was charged for the incident in April, and about two weeks after, Ennis recanted her accusation through her attorney. It was a money scheme.

"I'm sorry, I really am", Ennis said.

Ennis was asked by prosecutor Kevin Smith if Foster ever laid hands on her. "I told him I'm about to f- yo s- up, make sure you don't have a job tomorrow".

After returning to the Los Gatos home she shared with Foster, Ennis said she attempted to tell Foster about the altercation but he didn't want to hear about it. "It was about money", Elissa Ennis said in a preliminary hearing in a San Jose courtroom as reported by Robert Salonga of the Bay Area News Group.

The 49ers linebacker was arrested back in February on domestic violence charges that the accuser now claims she made up. No charges have been filed related to the alleged abuse of the dog.

Ennis initially told authorities that she needed the phone because Foster broke hers but she said that wasn't true and testified Thursday that she threw her phone at Foster after he broke up with her.

Ennis confirmed that Foster did not strike her.

Investigator James Wiems, who also testified Thursday, said Foster legally purchased his Sig Sauer assault rifle in Foster's home state of Alabama. However, on Thursday, she admitted that she had lied about that too.
