Royal Wedding Guests Must Follow These Very Specific Rules

Meghan Markle's extended family wasn't invited to the wedding- but that hasn't stopped them from coming to London

Even before the publication of The Mail on Sunday article, Kensington Palace had already tried to crack down on media coverage of Ms. Markle's parents, sending a confidential letter to British editors imploring the tabloids to stop harassing them.

Of course, Thomas Markle's decision could still change, so here's a rundown of everything that's happened so far.

Ms. Markle is estranged from her two half siblings, products of her father's first marriage; they are the ones now making the most mischief, egged on with promises of fame and with monetary compensation from the tabloids.

This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding.

Guests will arrive at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle between 3:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.

The royal wedding is round the corner and the Kensington Palace has finally answered the biggest question of the wedding: Who will be Meghan Markle's bridesmaids?

In the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, photogs had snapped photos of Thomas Markle reading a book about Great Britain, working out and getting fitted for a suit (presumably for the wedding).

Markle's other good friend, Serena Williams, also scored an invite to the royal wedding.

Meghan Markle is estranged from her half-sister, who has not been expected to attend the nuptials, and from her half-brother. The paparazzi pictures show Thomas looking at photos of his daughter and Harry on a computer.

The site also said he suffered a heart attack less than a week ago, and was returning to the hospital Monday with more chest pains.

Whether Mr Markle will actually make the wedding is another story, as he will need doctors to clear him for the flight which seems pretty unlikely following major surgery.

Britain's Sun newspaper, the country's best selling, had to scramble to update its front page to reflect what it called the "Royal Sensation" of Thomas Markle's absence under the headline: "I've got heart op today".

In a procedure scheduled for early on Wednesday night (AEST), doctors "will go in and clear blockage, fix damage and put a stent where it is needed", he told TMZ.

As to how Meghan is coping with her father's health battles and negative publicity, a source familiar with the situation told People magazine, "She doesn't deserve all this drama the week of her wedding".
