The pills have been in circulation since August, according to the company's statement.
Allergan said it is arranging for return of all sample pack products with the lot #5620706 Exp.
"Given the nature of the issue, controls and inspections in place on the packaging line, the recall is limited to one lot of Taytulla".
"Allergan recently identified, through a physician report, that four placebo capsules were placed out of order in a sample pack of Taytulla", Allergan said in a statement.

The recalled pills were "physicians' sample packs", which are shipped directly to physicians who give them to patients, an Allergan spokesperson told Live Science; they weren't packs that were given to patients by pharmacists.
