Steady turnout expected for Election Day at Houston County polls

"The votes will be counted after election officials verify the voter registration and confirm the voter has not yet voted elsewhere in the current election".
Voting locations are open from 9 a.m.to 9 p.m. and are indicated on voter information cards, but to learn where you are supposed to cast your ballot, go to the Elections Ontario website and click on voting.

If you are registered on the list, you should have received a Voter's Card in the mail (which has information on it about where and when you can vote).
"We are modernizing Ontario's elections in a measured and principled way to give electors a better voting experience", said Greg Essensa, Ontario's chief electoral officer.
A number of local seats will be on the ballot for voters in Barnwell and Allendale counties along with numerous state seats.
That's the Election Day mix in California's high-stakes primary on Tuesday, and it means the results in some key races could take days - or even weeks - to determine.

Meanwhile, San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters Melinda Dubroff says 65 percent of residents mail in their ballots.
"An estimated 768,895 voters participated in advance voting for the 2018 general election", Elections Ontario said in a press release.
District Attorney Birgit Fladager easily won re-election with almost 71 percent of the vote in the June 2014 primary against one opponent, defense attorney Frank Carson.
However, Dubroff says it's hard to pinpoint exactly what drives people to the polls. For most of the province, voting hours will run from 9:00 a.m.to 9:00 p.m. "Any particular outreach effort, we're not really privy to that". "I'm concerned that our turn out percentage won't be as dramatic as we would like to see", she said.
