Respawn Entertainment Reveals Name and Setting of Star Wars Project; Coming Holiday 2019

Star Wars is a hot property and EA will want to keep the hype surrounding it alive.

During EA's E3 presentation, Respawn's Vince Zampella was sat in the audience.

During EA's EA Play press conference for E3 2018, the developer confirmed "Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order" will release in 2019.

He further teased the story will take place between Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV - A New Hope, to place it in the context of the grander Star Wars timeline. Unsurprisingly, players will be able to wield lightsabers in the game.

For those of you unfamiliar with Respawn, the rights were acquired by EA for a cool $465 previous year. Zampella did reveal that the game is scheduled for release in Holiday 2019. Maybe. It's a Star Wars game with a huge lead time - it could be canceled!

In addition to the name and setting, Zampella said that the game is now targeting a release window of Holiday 2019, though no exact platforms for the game were announced at this time.

This probably isn't great news for the future of Titanfall 3, though. Fans should expect the exemplary level of quality first established at Respawn with Titanfall, a game that epitomizes our studio's dedication to slick, larger-than-life action and fun, groundbreaking mechanics.
