Florida authorities find remains of woman killed by alligator

Human Arm Found Inside Alligator That Attacked Missing Florida Woman

The body of a woman who went missing in Florida last Friday has been found, local officials have confirmed, explaining that she had been killed by an alligator while walking her dogs.

"Search teams located the body of Shizuka Matsuki at approximately 9:49 p.m., June 8, 2018 at the Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park lake in Davie", according to spokesman Robert Klepper, of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. No one witnessed the attack, but both of her dogs were found barking toward the lake. She noticed one of the dogs had a "fresh" gash on the side.

The dogs didn't want to leave the lake and were being cared for by Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, WSVN said.

She was a frequent visitor to Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park, but authorities have not said why she opted to go there Friday morning. Shortly afterward, the same man saw the dogs wandering alone.

Matsuki's husband asked her to walk the dogs while he's out of town in Chicago, but had warned about this particular park, Local 10 reported.

"We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Shizuka Matsuki".
