Parents reveal girl aged NINE in rehab for Fornite addiction

The girl, who has not been named for legal reasons, is being treated at a clinic after she wet herself during a 10-hour binge and even punched her dad in the face when he tried to confiscate the shoot-em-up game.

When they confronted their daughter about it, she said she had paid for extras on the Fortnite game. The girl admitted to playing the game at night in secret, for up to ten hours at a time.
She is also said to have wet herself rather than pause the game.
According to the WHO's International Classification of Diseases, gaming disorder is "characterized by impaired control over gaming, increasing priority given to gaming over other activities to the extent that gaming takes precedence over other interests and daily activities, and continuation or escalation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences". Epic's director of video production shared an image of the bus on Twitter this week after a site test.
Addictions counsellor Steve Pope, who treated the nine-year-old, said he had been contacted by parents of children as young as eight about possible Fortnite addictions.
"This is a serious issue which is destroying our little girl's life and someone needs to step in to ban it before it becomes an epidemic".
