First glimpse of Gal Gadot in 'Wonder Woman 2' released


The sequel is being filmed and some photos have been released, revealing one major detail.

Chris Pine in a scene from Warner Bros. The first movie, starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and Chris Pine as love interest Steve Trevor, took place during the first World War.

Without divulging any spoilers, director Patty Jenkins shared the images on Twitter earlier today.

Patty Jenkins, who is returning to the director's chair, teased a first look on Wednesday morning at the highly anticipated followup.

And from the looks of Pine's Members Only jacket and the big hairdos of the people around him, the sequel is clearly set in the '80s. We knew that joining Gal Gadot's Diana Prince would be Pedro Pascal (as somebody we don't know yet), Kristen Wiig's Cheetah, and some sort of cameo for original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter.

Gadot is, of course, reprising her titular role. Johns is credited as a co-writer on Wonder Woman 1984. After the unremarkable box office of Justice League, which was the last theatrical appearance of Wonder Woman, DC is now in a course correction mode.

But even more weird is the fact that he hasn't aged at all, just like Wonder Woman.

While the rest of the DCEU is in something of a state of flux with talks of Ben Affleck exiting his Batman role, the success of 2017's Wonder Woman made a sequel all-but guaranteed. "I thought, 'My God, an origin superhero story is the brass ring and she's my favorite superhero'".
