Todd Howard: Elder Scrolls 6 is still a very long way off

Bethesda Just Announced ELDER SCROLLS VI and STARFIELD

It won't be a full MMO like The Elder Scrolls Online or World of Warcraft, but will bring handfuls of players together in instanced servers created to support a few dozen at a time. There's even a portrait mode to cater for players on smartphone. It includes quests, one-on-one combat versus other players, and a robust single-player campaign.

It's nothing like Fallout Shelter (which is being released for free today on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch) but is instead a fully-fledged, open world, first person action role-player - just like the mainline games.

Bethesda's conference at E3 2018 came packed full of surprises, including the announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI.

Fallout 76 is the latest game in the Fallout series but also the earliest chapter, chronologically.

During the conference, Todd Howard said that "we are going to bring Blades to every device and system we can". This will make it easier for the user to play the game using one hand. The company shared a short teaser but no further details about The Elder Scrolls VI, the first game in its main Elder Scrolls series since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011). Along with the $20 add-on, there's a new patch for the game that adds a New Game+ mode, as well as a Survival mode that adds hazards like bleeding and the need to fret over your oxygen level.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades is perhaps the most ambitious game shown by Bethesda this year, though not necessarily in the expected way.

Elder Scrolls Blades will be released this fall, and the mobile version will be free to download.

The Bethesda presentation at E32018 managed to raise excitement among much of the videogaming community, with some huge reveals and announcements and further details of other upcoming Bethesda projects. Doom Eternal doesn't have a release date, but we'll see the first gameplay on August 10th. What's more, the game will eventually be released for PC and consoles with cloud-sync support so players can pick up their progress on their home platform. Typhon Hunter will be playable on virtual reality platforms, as well. That is why all those critics argue that the game will be released, most likely, the new generation of consoles.

"Cyberpunk 2077" is described a single-player, story-driven RPG where you'll get to design and create your own character filled with auto chases, gun fights and lots of - well, obviously - cyberpunk tropes.
